Pediatric Medical Careers

Josephine Said:

Is there any university in Orlando with a good pediatric program or any medical academics?

We Answered:

University of Central Florida for pediatrics...and Valencia Community college has a great nursing school. Both these schools are highly ranked and accredited in these respected fields.

Nelson Said:

Vocational schools for pediatric medical assisting?

We Answered:

There don't seem to be special programs for pediatric medical assisting. There are general programs for medical assistant. Since these involve a practicum, you could try to do your practicum in a pediatric setting.

I'd recommend that you look for a program at a community college or technical college in your state. This will be far less expensive than a for-profit school like Heald. The link below is a link to a complaint site. The complaints about Heald are similar to those I have seen about other for-profit schools like the University of Phoenix and Everest College. I'd recommend staying away from all for-profit schools. This is the link to the Heald complaints: http://www.complaintsboard.com/bycompany…

Whats the cost of 12 years of medical school, pediatric anesthesiology?

We Answered:

Well, most people who are physicians are in school a total of 8 years (4 years undergrad, 4 years med school). A residency does follow, but you get paid during that time (minimally, but money is still coming in, rather than going out). The cost can vary significantly, depending on the school you choose, whether or not you get scholarships or grants, if you have a working spouse, etc. Most people come out with over 100K in debt...some more, some less. With the cost of tuition these days, it is likely to be more. However, most physicians have no problems paying it off, especially if you plan on specializing in anesthesiology. Good luck!

We Answered:

yes it does

Jaime Said:

What schooling is necessary for the following medical careers: ?

We Answered:

4 years of college (any major and the premed classes), 4 years of med school for either. Pediatrician is 3+ years of residency, pediatric surgeon is 5+ years of residency. Residency is hands-on training at a hospital where you learn by doing. They pay you for it, but not much.
