The Medical City Careers

Wallace Said:

Michigan cities: Lansing, Grand Rapids or Ann Arbor?

We Answered:

All three cities are very nice and in fact, perhaps a bit better than Detroit.

But considering your situation

Ann Arbor, is too much for a college life, I dont recommend this area unless your in your early twenties.

Grand Rapids, is coming up city, which means, there arent much attractions to keep you entertained and out on the move, its also a bit farther to Lansing than Ann Arbor.

Lansing is going to be your best bet, its right dab in the middle, and its the capital of Michigan, its nicely policed as well. But choose a place that is easy for you to commute to and from work, especially when you have a child, in case of emergencies you want to be able to get home.

Dwight Said:

Did my dad make a good decision in his medical career? Its kind of long but help would really be appreciated w?

We Answered:

you write well. I'm actually impressed. You aren't writing ghetto or text speak.

Anyway, don't worry about your dad. That was his life and it can't be changed yet. Maybe later, if recurrence is true. Whatever.

You, on the other hand, do you WANT to become a doctor? Then do that. You have the brains for it.

Beatrice Said:

i heard that medical transcription is a good job.but i never see any adds in the paper..?

We Answered:

The fact that you never see any ads in the paper means that it is a good job with low turnover. Unfortunately, it also means that it is a competitive job.

Bryan Said:

I <3 science, about Med. School's for Medical career Doct.(s)?

We Answered:

You are correct in getting busy in starting to learn about medicine and science in general. Speaking from experience, my son used his summers doing research at several universities throughout the US. These were sponsored by the NASA and the National Science Foundation. He was introduced to research in the field and the lab. He was awarded a full scholarship to a local university to complete his undergrad work and a full ride to medical school. He just graduated last week and will continue to do research in pathology. Believe me it is never too early to start building up your resume.

Jesse Said:

Long hair in a medical career?

We Answered:

Yes, it's allowed and yes, you'll have to tie it back. But if you work at certain places, you may also be asked to wear a hair net. Keep that in mind. It's no big deal but be prepared.
