Russell Said:

What can I start doing to prepare myself to study anesthesiology?

We Answered:

Honestly, I'm actually laughing at you. You're only fourteen years old and not even in high school. It's like you're asking, "I know how to cut a piece of steak now how do I learn how to perform open heart surgery?" Poor metaphor but anyways, you are getting another fourteen years ahead of yourself. You are skipping fourteen years of education by asking how do I study anesthesiology at the age of fourteen. You have to do well in high school, do well on the SAT/ACT, get into a university, excel at that university, score high on the MCAT exams, apply to medical school, do extremely well at medical school in order to specialize in anesthesiology, score high on the proficiency examination, go through four years of residency, and then another two to fours years of specialty school for anesthesiology. You see how much education and steps you're missing? You forgot the four years in high school, four years of college, four years of medical school, four years of residency, and another two to four years of specialty school. You're jumping in too quickly and that's stupid. How do you study for anesthesiology without knowing the background of medical science like microbiology, organic chemistry, biochemistry, the anatomy/physiology of the human body, etc? Right now you're probably studying pre-algebra and learning about Punnet Squares.
Kid, just focus on doing well in high school so you can get into a college or university. Take it one step at a time. You look foolish by thinking you can study for anesthesiology right now; you aren't showing any real dedication towards anesthesiology, you just seem lost and confused.
Dude, you have it all wrong. Do you know how bad it looks for you to say that you want to become an anesthesiologist just because I'll get paid well in front of the board of admissions for medical school? You probably won't even get wait-listed. Trust me, if your only motivation for becoming an anesthesiology is money, I assure you that you desire to go through this arduous process will be totally exhausted. You'll realize that it isn't worth it to go through these expenses, stress, and time-consuming education to become an anesthesiologist.
