Which Medical Career Is Right For Me

Eduardo Said:

Which career path would be right for me?

We Answered:

It's perfectly normal to be an undecided/undeclared major...take classes in a variety of diciplines, and see if there's one area that particularly captivates you. Just remember, life seems a lot easier and more fulfilling if you do what you love.

Which career would be suitable for me according to my natal chart?

We Answered:

Mercury @ Gemini - meaning to say, you should involve in work involves in lots of intellectual activities and requires someone who are quick witted and fast problem solvers.

Mars & Jupiter @ Leo suggest that you like to command other and prefer to be the leader. You would have a certain amount of charisma within. You can find much luck when commanding.

However, Saturn @ Aquarius would reminder you to avoid being cocky and arrogant for you might have the tendency to belittle others and you need to learn to be more sensitive about the feelings of people around you. This part is largely affected by the ego from Leo in your personality.

I want to go into the Medical Field, but I don't know which area is right for me.?

We Answered:

I am not in the medical field, so I do not know the first thing about where I would be. But I have a ten year old son that wants to be in the field. He desire is not about the money, he says that he can make a lot of money but if he is not happy then he would never go beyond just doing a job. He's looking into plastic surgery because he says that he can make money by doing his job and also giving back to his community by helping low income families with surgical issues that can not afford them. So its a decision that needs to come from your heart and your ultimate goal in life....And being rich may be all what people think it is.

Which medical career is right for me?

If you aren't willing to go past the bachelor's degree level then maybe considering an associate's degree is the best option. You can go into: registered nurse, dental hygienist, diagnostic medical sonographer, respiratory therapist, occupational therapy assistant, physical therapy assistant, surgical technologist, and ultrasound technician. All of these can make 50k and beyond so you can decide what your into. A good website to go on is http://www.careeronestop.org/ I found this site and its a godsend. It has all the info you need on demand, pay, need, training and everything else your looking for. I hope this helps!

I'm not sure of which medical field I want to have a career in. Do I have to choose right now, or can I later?

We Answered:

The first two years of medical school are done in classrooms and labs learning the basic sciences. The second two years are spent doing rotations through the main medical and surgical specialties exposing the student to the broad spectrum of specialties. It's usually during this two year period when a student develops an interest in a specific specialty (it's also when many students who thought they knew what they wanted to do change their minds).

Many medical students enter med school with a concern for how they respond to different circumstances. Most have prejudiced views based on Hollywood's depiction of medicine. I worked trauma for years and I've never seen anything produced for film or TV that portrayed the real world accurately.

I'm also willing to bet your concept of psychiatry is actually an interest in psychology. Since one requires a PhD and the other a MD, you need to learn the difference between them.

These CSI shows have generated a lot of interest in forensics. These shows are soap operas. The real world of forensics isn't anything like what you see on TV. But you can do an elective rotation through forensic pathology when in medical school.

I recommend that all potential medical students start doing their research at the Association of American Medical Colleges web site: http://www.aamc.org/

Another site to visit is the American Board of Medical Specialties: http://www.abms.org/Who_We_Help/Consumer…

To learn the difference between a pyschiatrist and a psychologist, visit each association's web site.

Psychologist: http://www.apa.org/
Psychiatrist: http://www.psych.org/

Good luck with your research!
