Add Medicine For Adults

Guy Said:

treatment for adult add, what is the best medicine?

We Answered:

Don't take ANY drugs unless you HAVE to. All the drug companies care about is money. They only treat the symptoms......not the problem itself. The best advice I can give is and all natural diet. This might sound crazy but its been proven in numerous studies that all the junk we eat containing chemicals such as artificial colors, flavors and preservatives have an adverse effect on our bodies. It effects some differently than others. In my brothers case as well as a good friend of mine, when removing all the artificial stuff, both attention span and focus came back. Not to mention a host of other positive stuff. Its expensive to eat this way. It means no fast food and reading literally every label only to find that you cant have most if it but its one of the healthiest things you can do for your body. Nature did not intend for our bodies to have chemicals.

Good luck

What are the best natural supplements for adult ADD?

We Answered:

Beware when trying Serotonin inhibitors. Sam-e and St. Johns Wort tend to be more beneficial for depression so they increase the activity of your receptors instead of stabilizing them. So you could put yourself on edge. Which will cause a bigger problem in concentration. L-Theanine is a relaxant that is said to make strives in ADD. You could find it at your local Vitamin store.

Diet in adults is a big factor. Adult ADD tends to lead to a bigger craving for carbohydrates. Cutting down on Carbohydrates, sugars, dairy and saturated fats will help you to regulate your focus. Also DHA, Magnesium and Amino Acids will help with brain function to maintain concentration. It sound's like a lot of work. Unfortunately there is no cure all for it, just a remedy to suppress symptoms. Simply following all these steps will make enough difference that you will notice a difference and your peers will too.

Coffee. It stimulates the frontal lobe and reduces inattentiveness.

Adult ADD- Looking for a natural medicine alternative?

We Answered:

Actually, Fish Oil has been found to be very effective and beneficial towards ADD and ADHD. The L-Tyrosine might help since that primarily helps with the Thyroid, Adrenal, and Pituitary glands... but it helps a little for brain health because of that.
As far as dose, the best person to ask the exact dose you should be taking would be a doctor.... they are the only ones that can legally tell you the dose you should take. You could just take a bottle and follow the directions on it, and there are people that try taking a higher dose to see how well that works, but it's better to be safe than sorry.
As far as "best brand", any answer given here will just be personal opinion (I can give you my opinion if you'd like). There are many higher quality companies out there that are readily available and well priced... just make sure the company has a good rating with either the GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) or USP (U.S. Pharmacopoeia), as those are the main quality assurance organizations (USP is for the U.S., GMP is for the U.S. and worldwide).

What are the symptoms of Adult ADD?

We Answered:

Just go to your doctor and tell him your symptoms, don't start telling him what you've got! he can work that out for himself! The main symptoms with ADD is an inability to stay still for any length of time, constant movement as if you have not got the time to linger! Some people have a short attention span which means they don't wait around for an answer to their question! another is they argue about trivial things at the drop of a hat! An inability to concentrate on any subject for long. Have a great day.

Question about Adult ADD and medicine?

We Answered:

Hey there.
I'm 31 and have ADHD (H for hyperactivity).
Taking medicine has really evened me out and made me a calmer person. For do long, I didn't want to take medicine because I thought that with discipline I could control my own brain.
But, I couldn't. I was acting up, shopping and drinking too much and having fits of anger and frustration. Also, my insomnia had become unbearable.
When I finally decided medicine, my doctor and I had to try a few because Ritalin and Adderall made me to thin and my hair was thinning. We finally settled on the unconventional Wellbutrin.
The only side effect I have is a tendency to get more headaches, no big deal.
It's helped me a lot, I'm a model citizen right now, lol!
Good luck to you.
