Allergy Medicine During Pregnancy

Sherry Said:

Medications to avoid during pregnancy?

We Answered:

I believe that your question would be better answered by your doctor. Stay away from herbs that you have never heard about before. Tea is ok and can actually help with stress relief and make sure to take your prenatal vitamin daily. Do plenty of research about certain herbs and medicines before ingesting them. For the overactive bladder + pregnancy you will go to the bathroom more than you normally would just with your condition, so my suggestion would be to use toilet wipes instead of toilet paper because TP can cause you to become sore VERY quickly if you are constantly battling your bladder.
Good Luck and Baby Dust to you hon!!!

Singulair during pregnancy?

We Answered:

Dear Athens Girl,

I'm currently using Singulair for the last two years and my asthma has been well behaved. I just found out recently that I am pregnant again and I just asked my doctor about continuing to use Singulair. I recently read that the FDA considers this a pregnancy category B drug. Singulair is not expected to be harmful to an unborn baby. Discuss this with your doctor though. I'm on Advair which is a class C and I'm really concerned because testing in animals showed birthdefects.

Let me know what you find out about Singulair usage.

Thanks
Artondra
