Pediatric Question 2 year old toddler - vomiting and complaining of stomach ache for months. Please help?

We Answered:

Have they done an xray or MRI to look at his throat? Just a thought.

What I originally thought was that maybe there is a food allergy. That can really upset him. I would check with an allergist, or dietician and see about food elimination/ slowly adding certain foods. That really could upset his stomach and throat.

And what about too much medicine. Sometimes all those pills are really nauseating.

What's your opinion on Claritin medicine for toddlers?

We Answered:

If you think she has allergies and is over 2 years of age, try giving her a teaspoon of LOCAL honey each day to help her body develop immunities to all the air born irritants around. Local honey has no side effects, is 100% natural and tastes good. Herbal remedies are the best cure for anything as they will not harm the body. Claritin will dry out her organs over time and she will be prone to sinus infections as well. Doctors get a kickback from the drug companies so they don't really care about how much the patient is taking or how much damage the drug does-they can prescribe something else for the side effects=more money for them

What to do for cough and congestion in a toddler?? Any advice please!!?

We Answered:

Yes, get a second opinion. Do your twins have asthma? This happens to my little one who as asthma and her doctor told me that in smaller children with asthma, chest congestion tends to be much worse and stay for longer. She usually keeps her chest congestion for two weeks or so after her cold clears up. She also spits up mucus and has a continuous cough that keeps her awake at night. Another friend of mine has a son who is the same way. He also has asthma. Generally, I give her a breathing treatment to calm the cough and help clear up some of the congestion. It does eventually subside, but it takes a while.

Beth Said:

For a toddler, should I wait a day or should I start medicine as soon as I see symptoms? (read on)?

We Answered:

colds do not turn into asthma

you can wait to treat the symptoms, and it will have no effect on the duration on the cold (with allergies they will go away only after the allergin is removed but the cold will go away when the immune system fights off the virus meds have nothing to do with it)
