Altitude Sickness Medicine

Altitude sickness at Neuschwanstein Castle? We Answered:
No, you shouldn't have a problem at Neuschwanstein - Pike's Peak is a lot higher at over 14,000 ft. My home in Colorado is not far from Pike's Peak and I can feel a difference between the altitude around Denver and the top of Pike's Peak or Mount Evans even when I've been acclimated to the Denver area. I've never had a problem at Neuschwanstein in 5 or 6 trips there.Kyle Said:
Is your doctor a "quack"?We Answered:
I COMPLETELY AGREE!!!I reported some really bad side effects (dizzyness, headaches, etc) with this medicine I was taking, and he kept on telling me to give it another six months and refilling my percription! I have low blood pressure and anxiety about meds because of this jerk.

Avoiding Altitude Sickness?We Answered:
When we've traveled to high altitude areas like the Himalayas or the Andes, we've taken Diamox (Acetazolamide). It's a prescription that helps prevent altitude sickness and actually is used to treat it.Here is the Travel Doctor page to read: http://www.traveldoctor.co.uk/altitude.h… We have a page on general international travel health tips: http://www.mousetourstravels.com/interna…

does airborne medicine help with altitude sickness? We Answered:
Airborne medicine doesn't work, they just settled a lawsuit about it. I believe you are asking about motion sickness medicine, possibly if what you are having issues with is too much motion, such as back and forth movements.Sidney Said:
Altitude sickness?We Answered:
drinking loads of water is kind of the main thing...its about the only thing that helps, you should drink it while your going to altitude and while your at altitude.I know there are some tablets you can get to combat altitude sickness but i dont know how well they work...
