Because the initial study seemed to support it, but the follow-up at year 14 is where the author admits that the more saturated fat, the more calories one eats, the healthier you will be. This is many years too late to be included in the original abstract. Keep in mind that doctors and the "experts" on this site, only read the abstract and if it does not agree with what they have been brainwashed into believing, it must be published by non medical "nuts"

Yes,to some degree the brain will still be functioning in order to operate the other organs. Brain death does not mean that there is absolutely no activity. The brain is the central computer and it regulates all the bodies systems including the heart and lungs. If the heart is still beating than that part the brain is still functioning.

However, it is possible that the part of the brain that controls our cognitive abilities does not function therefor we are unable to comprehend, rationalize or analyze our situation. We would perhaps not even dream. In other words, we are incapable of anything that requires thought and that would include our senses.

But since the brain is such an amazing organ, scientists do not know everything. To be so dogmatic on something so complex as the brain would be showing a measure of arrogance.

I for one do not pretend to know everything. God is the creator of the brain and all other things and if a person has died, I am confident in the bibles promise that God will resurrect them to perfect health in His due time.

Because they are ashamed of the state of the health care system in the USA.

First, do not believe the lies about the system in the UK. Yes it has problems. At times, maternity units do turn mothers away. At rare times. But the system of healthcare in the UK has resulted in lower child deathrates than in the USA. Our life expectancy is higher). And, this applies to all western European countries with a universal healthcare system.

Put it this way, kids die in the USA that would have had a better chance of life if they had been born in the UK. If you want to keep a system that results in figures like that, well you do not care about your country and fellow Americans.

Because they make money either way-actually stand to make more if the uninsured are covered .But also realize that they overwhelmingly support a plan with tort reform.And suthrn g. is right most specialists are against it.Do you realize only 29%of Dr.'s in the USA belong to the AMA and their numbers are dropping rapidly by them endorsing obamacare.It takes 3x longer to be paid by the government for reimbursment for medicare and medicaid claims than for insurance claims through private companies
