Well the most popular otc pain killer for anti-inflammatory is Advil.But all ibuprofen is exactly the same no matter who's name is on the box.I would personally go for the cheapest one and not pay more for brand names. Anti-inflammatory drugs(NSAIDS) decrease production of prostraglandins, which can act as pain and inflammation messengers, so it doesn't necessarily "heal" it, but it does help it from getting any worse and helping you cope with the pain better.
Also, movement alleviates fluid buildup that causes pain with inflamation.

I like Aleve. It's not too different from Advil, but may work better for you.

Aleve = naproxin
Advil = ibuprofen
Both are NSAIDs, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs.

i have had cortizone shots before and am also taking anti-inflammatory pills too. I have never experienced this before. I'd go see a doctor about this one.

Not all of them do. It depends on what drug your doctor prescribes. Medicines prescribed after surgery for anti inflammatory do not seriously impede healing. It is ussually barely noticable. You'll still get your granulations, fibercous, and other great stuff and practically the same rate. I don't know if your asking a question for school or if your asking for a real life situation. I would reccomend taking the anti inflammatory to affoid infection/ irratation. I was reading up on some cases where the doctor failed to prescribe such medications and a wet gangrene formed in the foot.

I really hoped this help. To simplify that all: different people react to differnt medications differently. An adverse affect for someone might differ from person to person. It depends on patient. I can see it maybe impeding on older people but besides that not much. But then your getting into geriatrics and i would be rambling on.

There isn't a human anti-imflammatory that you can buy over the counter that will not kill the cat (kidney damage, internal bleeding, etc). Plain simple truth.

Take the cat to the vet - I'm not a jerk.
Call the humane society and tell them that you can't afford to feed your cats because of financial hardship.
They have special programs for just such events where they can provide low cost or no cost food.
