What are the limitations for diabetes? We Answered:
Since you're taking medications (in addition to regular insulin) I'm guessing you have Type II diabetes and the medication you may be taking is metformin (there are many different meds but this is the most common one). Although a CBG (complete blood glucose) of 112 is fairly normal, it is a little high for fasting. Fasting should be down in the 80s. You'd have to talk to your primary care provider (doctor, nurse practitioner, etc.) in order to either increase your medications, change the insulin sliding scale (if you're on one) or change the other meds you're on. Managing your diabetes and checking your toes and legs for sores is very important in maintaining a healthy, hospital free life style.
