This will sound silly, but trust me it really works, I've done it. Put vicks vapor rub on the bottom of his feet and put a pair of socks on. He will be asleep in five minutes and no coughing through the night. Something about the menthol and some pressure points on the feet. It is worth a try and if it doesn't work in 15 minutes you can still give some regular cough medicine. It is the least invasive with the highest results.
