Blood Pressure Medicines

Eugene Said:

Has anyone had side effects from blood pressure medicines?

We Answered:

Yes. virtually all the 'hypertension' drugs are terrible, and have awful side effects. Most doctors think they help the patient, about half the patients think they help, and about 10% of the family of the patients think they help. Figure the cause of the hypertension, and treat it in a sensible way, rather than taking a toxic drug to control a symptom!! One researcher says that over 80% of hypertension seems to be caused by elevated uric acid (which is fairly easy to change)

Judith Said:

Why are there different blood pressure medicines for white and black people?

We Answered:

Most studies show that blacks have higher blood pressures than whites, and that hypertension-related mortality is significantly greater. Significant pathophysiological differences are present, on the average, between blacks and whites. Blacks tend to have higher blood volume, lower plasma renin activity, and lower kallikrein excretion.
While there may be black-white differences of genetic origin affecting the prevalence of hypertension, at least part of blood pressure difference between black and white is probably of environmental origin.
If socio-economic differences are taken into account, there is no difference between black and white in compliance. Antihypertensive therapy markedly reduces mortality in blacks as well as whites.

Andy Said:

Can I bring blood pressure medicines to USA from India by courier for my own use?

We Answered:

If its in a quantity small enough for personal use , then you should not have a problem. However it might be simpler to go to an emergency care doctor and get a prescription written out. You will have to pay around $125 for consultation. since you do not have insurance. There is a large list of generic drugs for $4 per months supply. Walmart, Giant and Safeway have $4 prescription program. Good luck

Tony Said:

what are the risks of mixing 2 diffrent blood pressure medicines?

We Answered:

Blood pressure medication work on a variety of methods:
1. diuretics...make you pee....kidney releases more fluid
2. beta blockers....slow the heart rate
3. calcium channel blockers ...weaken the contracton of the heart
4. and nitrates dialate blood vessels

so taking medication that work in the same way can potentiate the effect. Even taking two diffent kinds...lets say beta blockers and nitrate together can cause issues.

Symptoms would include general weakness, dizzyness, syncope , death.

All medcations should be adminstered with a doctors knowlegde and active care...if your not getting the attention you need ... try a new doctor.
