Apply for state health care. My grandmother had breast cancer in 2002 at the age of 53. The company my grandpa had worked for and retired from went out of business, so their health coverage ceased. They live in Tennessee. My grandmom went to the health department and applied for TennCare and had her mastectomy, chemotherapy, and the chemo pill for 5 years. The insurance was free and they covered most of her health costs.

I’m not sure what you consider a “good website”? I’m sure if you did a simple search you would find plenty, however there are no alternative medicines proven to work on any kind of cancer. We have come such a long way in the treatment of breast cancer that we can now even manage many late stage breast cancers I really cannot understand how anyone would want to go the alternative route with this disease.

The "real" medicine? Not making any sense. Treatment for breast cancer depends on what stage it's in, the type it is (is it inflammatory breast cancer? A mass?) and the medical history of the patient.

The patient would decide on the best course of treatment (chemo, radiation or both) with her oncologist.

Typically breast cancer is treated by surgery and then, if deemed appropriate for the particular individual case, by chemotherapy and/or radoitherapy. Decisions about treatment depend on the grade and stage of the cancer, and the extent of lymph node involvement, if any.

Then, again as appropriate to the individual case hormone or other treatment may be given.

There are no guaranteed cures I'm afraid.

Actually, Tamoxifen is for women whose tumors were estrogen receptive, and who are premenopausal. I am on Tamoxifen for another 3 years. There are some other drugs, but I think you have to be postmenopausal for them. It would be best to ask your doctor. Good luck!
