What is funny is that is so common in many ethnic stores. For instance mexican stores sell saffron and mustard seeds and all kinds of stuff for cheap then you go to the grocery store and pay ten dollars vs a dollar and fifty. Many companies who buy from other people and resell mark up the price and most times you buy from brand names who sell exotic as expensive. To most ethnic people the spice is normal so they make it reseasonable for people who need to purchase at more affordable prices. That is how it always is. As for tea most times Asian markets won't sell what they won't drink and because it is imported or purchased on their travels they can afford to present a cheaper product rather than those who buy secondary or mimick products. Tea is so expensive these days and why I don't know. Some imported hand made teas like Jasmine is expensive because of the painstaking process that it goes through but other than that it should not be so bad unless you buy gourmet that is super high quality and handmade. But I am talking about some high end tea with Jasmine or cherry blossoms that sell for 20 dollars for a few ounces that is amazing in flavor and worth the money, not the cheap stuff. Other than that tea should be reasonable. I hand make tea and I know how much work goes into my tea but some companies mass produce it with less care and yet other imported ones are made at cheap labor cost and can be affordable. Asian teas are good for you, the chinese know what they are doing when it comes to tea and health.

Go for the Asian markets cause it is so much more authentic, the dates work well in soups, clear broth soups.

I would suggest that you check out the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine website they have a section where you can find a practitioner of TCM, just acupuncture, or Oriental Massage.

Or with any of the acupuncture schools in FL they could possible give you a reference or have a free or reduced clinic.
