Depression Medicine List

Tony Said:

What can I do to help myself get better from depression?

We Answered:

That is really tough, to have depression for so long. My only advice would be to keep trying. Try another medication, a different therapy. Pay attention to all the little things that do feel good, and do matter to you. I know it won't cure anything, but it may help to make the days hurt less. I know what it's like to have bouts of depression, so I'm really sorry you're going through this, but it's a good sign that you want to get better. Some people don't. Hope it lifts a bit for you.

Would being on Depression medicine effect my future Nursing career?

We Answered:

No, it should not affect your ability to become a nurse at all. In fact, you will be able to function so much better that it will help you in your studies and your work.

You would be amazed at the number of people in all professions that are on anti depressants. Doctors, Lawyers, Police, Corrections Officers, Nurses, Surgeons, and every other profession you can possibly think of.

I am on anti depressants and currently work as a counselor. Before that I worked with Level 3 Sex Offenders and Murderers coming out of prison. I had to be drug tested for both jobs and the anti depressants never even showed up!

Please get help, you deserve it and you will have a much better life. It will not get in your way, it will only help you in achieving your goals and living a happy life.

Take Care and many blessings,

Michelle

Helping my cousin with depression?

We Answered:

It is very hard to overcome depression. Be patient with her. I have been depressed for 3 years and it's only been a year that I've not been on medication, but I still sleep 15 hours a day. Although now I can be alert when I'm awake.
So recovery takes time. Your cousin has been through a lot, all you can do is not to pressure her cause this will only make her more depressed.

Nina Said:

I think i have depression. What should I do ?

We Answered:

yes of course you should see a doctor, but don't automatically assume that it is depression. Depression is a chemical imbalance in the brain which can be treated with exercise, diet, therapy, and some medications. Only a doctor can diagnose it. You may have something else going on medically, or maybe there have been changes in your life that you don't know how to handle. Whatever it is, there is help available. You need to contact a health care professional, but most importantly, you need to decide whether or not you want to continue to be miserable. No one can help you if you are not willing to change and go to any lengths. Some people can't live any other way. Abraham Lincoln said it best "Most people are as happy as they make up their minds to be."

Do you know of any non prescription medicine that helps with depression?

We Answered:

Depression may be caused by:

A deficiency of Vitamin D - To see if this applies to you. See if your mood improves when you expose your skin to sunlight for 20 minutes on a given day. If so, you may need to get more sunlight or you may need massive, but safe dose of Vitamin D3. Check with Dr. Blaylock about safe dosage.

Minerals and Vitamin C are also important. I recommend leafy green salad (well chewed) instead of milk because animal proteins can block absorption of Vitamin C. Three glasses of milk or too much meat my lead to an acid condition in blood that can draw calcium and other minerals from bones.

Similarly, soda pop contains too much sugar and diet sodas contain aspartame. If you drink soda pop, stop drinking it completely. It does a body bad.

Vitamin B12 is also an important mineral, but you only need a standard dose.

Avoid too much salt, sugar, and salt. These can cause problems. Too much animal fat is bad. However, you need a modest amount of Omega-3 oils. I suggest a supplement from this and avoidance of too much animal protein (less eggs, dairy, beef, poultry, fish, and pork).

Also, exercise is more effective than drugs in improving mood. Get about 1/2 hour of vigorous exercise every day and you will see a bid difference.
