Family Medicine Jobs

Tracey Said:

I am a family medicine doctor, but I have no license. Are there any jobs I can do with an MD and no license?

We Answered:

You MIGHT get a job with an insurance company. But right now, there's a big cloud over you. Many employers might shy away for just that reason.

Kristin Said:

What kind of medical jobs can I do with a high school diploma?

We Answered:

none that you could expect to be paid for. most if not all medical related jobs require some training.

Victor Said:

What kind of Medicine job should i get into?

We Answered:

You won't do well if you don't really want to go into the medical field.

You can go into pharmaceuticals and give people their prescriptions. You could go into a psychiatric ward and help the mentally ill. You can also try to be a phlebotomist.
I wouldn't recommend doing any admin work in the medical field.

Ronnie Said:

I want to study medicine,it's 7-8 years, and it says for family doctor 2 more years extra..i'm confused, help

We Answered:

BS is usual, although not essential. You do have to take the Pre-med curriculum , which is just about enough to get a Bachelor's in Science anyway. 4 years for most people. Then, if you get into Medical School, 4 more years. Then at least 3 Postgraduate years. The first year used to be called Internship, now it is just PGY-1. That is for Family Practice. If you decided to go into Neurosurgery, it would be AT LEAST 6 more years after graduation. Depends on the specialty you choose. There are a lot of MD's who are not practicing Medicine now. Many have found a better way to make a living without all the stress. However, you are not really trained to do anything else. Changing from Clinical Medicine to Research may add some time. There are programs that allow you to shorten the time a little, and you get an MD and a PhD if you want to be a researcher.
COLLEGE-4
MED SCHOOL-4
POSTGRADUATE-3-10
So, 11 years is about the shortest time for Family Practice.
