Should the NHS treat the obese for free....?

We Answered:

Zoe - I am PASSIONATE about the NHS ..it's staff .
, it's ethos, it's place in our society...

Treatment is free and without prejudice to all. End of.

I could rant on about the REAL causes of obesity...and the REAL problems faced by those affected but I would be here all night ranting and raving.

It is so easy to laugh and pour scorn on those people deemed 'less worthy' of help and support..no fcker ever looks further than the pleasure that vitriol gives them..no fcker ever want to know the real problems so I shall save my efforts..

Instead of demonising those who need help and support lets get the truly evil Financial Industry/tax evaders to be responsible for haemorrhaging the money of the decent working person.

In my experience those affected by obesity feel shame and deep unhappiness...Not so the Bankers. I know where my sympathy lies and i know who 'costs' me more...

EDIT- I can see jomos point about surgery being a foregone conclusion rather than an extreme measure. it IS major surgery and all the risks associated with it should not be taken lightly. Yes..people's first action should always be diet/altered lifestyles. However what really wicks me off is the lack of compassion towards those affected..usually the same people who are quick to berate those who are obese are the same bleeding hearts over anorexic victims. NO DIFFERENCE the argument of one being psychological and the other greed makes me feel ill....all the other problems in society people seem to be able to see further than the ends of their nose and look to the causes rather than to blame those affected because the difficulties in life ARE more complex than that..why isn't obesity afforded the same outlook? The inequalities baffle me.

anyway, with your greece high sch scores and if u have As and with science subjects, please apply directly to the univ - try northern ireland - they seem to cater for foreign students more kindly.
this would be the most convenient way.
dont do another degree - this is not the american system. go straight into medicine and save 4 years.

I need FREE Gleevec?

We Answered:

Years ago when I worked in Oncology, the pharmaceutical company that makes Gleevec offered a program for those with financial inability to pay for it. Go to the website for Novartis Pharmaceuticals, make contact directly to them and inquire as to whether they still offer such a program for free or reduced rate Gleevec. Novartis will tell you what the requirements are and how they will affect manang.
