Graduate Entry Medicine

Felicia Said:

Can you study pharmacy and then use it as a way into graduate entry medicine?

We Answered:

As you are going for graduate entry, then ideally you would want to get onto one of the fast-track courses where you do medicine in 4 rather than 5 years. A quick scan of these courses revealed that some accept pharmacy while others don't, so you would need to do some research before choosing who to apply to. Also, you will need at least a 2(i).

If you are studying in England, it does seem a slightly odd choice though, as you will need to study for 4 years rather than 3 for a biological degree, which will also qualify you for entry, as long as you choose the right subjects...but then on the other hand you might love pharmacy and decide to stick with it.

Andrew Said:

Anyone doing graduate entry medicine?

We Answered:

Hi, im in the exact same position as u, I want to do medicine instead of languages but I havnt got the science subjects.

It looks like alot of hard work, but I feel if you really want to be a doctor then it is more than worth the effort

Question about taking a graduate entry into Medicine? If I were to complete a biomedical course and thereafter?

We Answered:

Your grammar is confusing. In the US, there is no other way around it, you get the pre-requisites in undergrad, then med school, then residency. If you don't complete each step sequentially, you don't get to the next step.

Sean Said:

Anyone with experience of Graduate Entry Medicine?

We Answered:

You don't have to repeat the science courses in your BSc.
