NEED HELP!!!!! any help or input is appreciated? We Answered:
i think youve done a really good job with this!but i dont think you should state the dependent and independent variables in the introduction. simple having "effects of epsom salt on plant growth" is good
in the history section i think its great that you did a little citation, but the peroid goes AFTER the closed bracket, ie (blah blah).
i think your hypothesis is corrent...i mean you were measuring the growth rate right? and prior to doing the experiment did htink that epsom salt would increase the growth rate...so i think thats alright.
i think your materials/methods are good, just make sure that you have not copied or paraphrased too closely to the instructions that YOU were given to do the lab...avoid all forms of plagarism!
in your discussion you should basically state the main points of your results (yes, epsom salt does increase growth rate) but i dont think you necessarily have to go into all the little details. are there any questions your teacher wants you to answer with this lab? if there are, you are probably supposed to include them in the discussion. you can try talking about sources of error. "human error" is really not acceptable...maybe you can say something like temperature fluctuations in the room...or fluctuations in the amount of light that the plants recieved. you could try doinga little research and find out exactly WHY epsom salt promotes and speeds plant growth. i would suggest that you ask your teacher about this section if possible, because what ive told you is from my experience, but they may be looking for something specific for you to include...so it doesnt hurt to ask!
anyways, like i said i think youve done a good job!
good luck!
