you should maybe start off by fostering cats for your local shelter that is a good way to find out how you will be around them and you won't have the life long commitment that you do if you adopt one. this way maybe a few weeks to a few months.

Dear, you should be asking his paediatrician this. Never try anything on your own for a child this young. I know a few allergy medicine for children based on my experience as a mum but I'm not going to list it as you need to get it from the doctor. You should not open questions like these to strangers like us no matter how much we wish to help. See the paeditrician.

This is a very important and useful report especially for yourself and your precious family. I used to have a serious allergic symptoms but after I switched those household toxic products to safe, non-toxic products all the symptoms (respiraotry allergy, skin problems...) were gone away forever. Taking a reference to this report if you switch your toxic products to safe products not having those toxic chemical ingredients it will help you and your family health real big time! Please do not think that would be a too much work for you to check all the ingredients! That's for you and your family. Even just switching a laundry detergent can affect your health considerably. I was told the only thing safe to take was benadryl. But on here it sounds like every doctor seems to have a different opinion. Personally, i would call my doctor and you can also call your local pharmacist. They will know what is safe to take while pregnant. :)

Sorry I can not give out medical advice. But what you can do is call you local hospital, ask for pediatrics and then ask for a nurse. Explain to them who your doctor is, what your child's symptoms are and ask them what the standard protocol is for administering benadryl to an 11 month old infant. They are going to want his weight also. If they will not give you info, some will not, ask if you may speak with the MD on call for your pediatrition or if your pediatrition may be paged.
We don't mind. Its our job. We care about your children too (or we wouldn't work in peds).
Honestly, my infant is 19 months, weighs 26 #s, and I give her benadryl for stuffy noses. 1 teaspoon. Mother to mother.
The dose is according to weight and age so be careful.
Also, try a make shift steam room, run hot water in your shower and stand in the bathroom with the door closed holding the infant. Prop her head up when she is lying on you sleeping so her nose will drain.
