The only one, I found in my books, is Calamus thwaitesii.

There are reported 69 plants with medicinal capacity in use, but they don`t give all the names, and from the mentioned ones Calamus is the only aquatic plant.

Here are some common ones.. Most herbs can be used for many, many illnesses, but I'll only list one or two examples.

1. Black Cohosh - used to ease menopausal symptoms, especially hot flashes.

2. Goldenseal - it is antimicrobial and can be used to treat all sorts of infections. I used it recently to get rid of pink eye!

3. Plantain - has endless uses, but is commonly used as an astringent; you can chew up the leaf and apply to a bee sting to help draw stinger/poison out.

4. Mullein - also has many uses. Can be made into a tincture and used to treat ear infections.

5. St. John's Wort - Can be used as a natural anti-depressant.

6. Dandelion - can be used as a diuretic.

7. Feverfew - used in the treatment of migraines.

8. Jewelweed - can be broken up and applied to poison ivy to ease irritation.

9. Red Clover - can help with eczema and psoriasis.

10. Arnica - anti-inflammatory; can be used to help treat bruises.

Note: I am not a doctor and am not suggesting anyone use any of the treatments I listed. Even though herbs are natural, some are very effective and can interfere with Rx drugs and other natural treatments so talk to your doctor/do your research before using medicinal plants to treat any problems you might have.

sorry to say this but you cannot just bulk up and feed you chickens with vegetables ....

and loaves of bread??
no wayy that is bad for chickens and ducks in fact and should be given RARELy ....
bread has no nutritional content for birds only carbs and minimal fat and clogs the throat easily if water is not easily got at.

vegetables and fruit are great .... except AVACADOS
They are highly toxic and will KILL your birds
and also potatoes have to be coooked first

grass, worms .. bugs will make up the bulk of a goose's diet and for a ducks too which they can all find readily find in the garden etc . .

but you will HAVE to get some kind of grain/pellets for them .. it isn't too expensive i get mine for €8.50 which lasts me a week
(i have many many birds)

but without a proper diet
*birds won't lay
*become malnourished
*easily pick up diseases and germs
*avail to stress easily
* and go into moult too often
