Although I am medically qualified, I try to keep as little as possible in the home medicine cupboard. So should everybody else. Items to consider include an antihistamine for allergies, something for travel sickness (my wife swears by crystallised ginger), an antacid for heartburn, a nasal decongestant for sniffles and olive oil for wax in the ears. The medicinal brandy I keep elsewhere.

And Midol, so when you get cramps.
Pepto-Bismol if you easily have stomach problems.
