Have you ever been to an African country?
Have you ever met anyone from Africa?
Do you have even the slightest idea of what you are talking about?
The very idea that AIDS is some governmental African plot to get money is disgusting.
There are millions of REAL people dying every minute from this disease: people I have known personally, thank you very much. It is not a big ol' hoax for money.
God, people are so ignorant.
Bono's mission is not simply to give AIDS meds.; it is to fairly redistribute the world's resources. Bono is getting much needed publicity to SAVE LIVES and people who complain about whether or not he is profiting from it really need to re-examine their priorities. I wish more people could benefit from their efforts to promote equality throughout the world. Maybe then it would actually happen.
Bono's charity, DATA, is actually quite transparent. Go ahead and see for yourself where all the money comes from; it's a 501(c)3, they have to be completely transparent in their money dealings.
(Then again, maybe I am getting paid to respond to your question and this is really a plot to take make money.)
