This site is a nice, shiny ad, with a picture of a man standing in front of what appears to be an ICP-MS. There is no explanation of what "Xytos" actually is, and the site actually says on it, at one point: "There is little downside other than a possible waste of money and time"

I think this is more of an effort to interest potential investors than it is an effort to address the needs of people with cancer. For some reason that leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

Maybe they are genuine, but they obviously haven't hired a marketing person who knows anything about cancer.

He’s a con artist. In his book 90% of it is his rambling about evil big pharma conspiracies. Only about 6 pages are devoted to actual "cures" and even then they are not printed in their entirety, they just refer you to his website, were you have to pay even more money. Example: In one of his books he says he has a guaranteed cure for smoking, but doesn’t tell you what it is – he refers you to his website where for approx $500 you could get a lifetime’s membership and find out what that cure is.

In 1990, Trudeau posed as a doctor in order to deposit $80,000 in false checks, and in 1991 he pleaded guilty to larceny. Trudeau had used the credit cards of eleven customers of a mega memory product to fraudulently charge approximately $122,735.68. He spent two years in federal prison because of this conviction.

People like Kevin Trudeau leech off the fact that there is growing interest in Alternative health and that some people have become disillusioned with Conventional Medicine and/or Pharmaceutical treatments so he sees an opportunity for a money making endeavor. People like that may have 0.01% interest in health but their main objective is getting rich. He has managed to become a multimillionaire by scamming desperate people and repeating numerous bizarre theories.

Wherever there's illness there's someone waiting to exploit people's desperation by selling them quack cures. Trudeau is one such scumbag. He's made millions from terminal illnesses, and he doesn't care who suffers or dies as a result.

He never actually commits to anything; he never said he had a cure for cancer, he said there MIGHT be a cure for cancer if you do certain things, but that there might not be, but probably there is and someone somewhere is probably hiding it. In this way he can legally say whatever he wishes and sell as many books as possible.

There is a lot of stem cell quackery out there at the moment, but the truth is right now there are no legitimate stem cell therapies outside of research protocols. These scam artists only want your money, they don't care about exploiting cancer patients.

Any success your South Korean doctor claims is most probably due to the chemo.

Many medicines and treatments for the various types of cancer already exist.

If you mean when will a cure for cancer be developed - the problem with finding a 'cure for cancer' is that cancer is hundreds of diseases, not just one. The difficulty is that different cancers are caused by different things, so no one strategy can prevent them, and different cancers respond to different treatments so no one treatment can cure them all. There will never be a magic bullet that cures all cancer.

And some cancers CAN be cured these days: 7 out of 10 children are cured of cancer. Testicular cancer, Hodgkin's disease, and many cases of leukaemia can all be cured in adults with chemotherapy, most skin cancers are cured with surgery, and many cases of thyroid cancer and cancer of the larynx are cured with radiotherapy.

Many other types of cancer are also cured if they are found early enough. There is still a long way to go, especially with some of the commonest types of cancer such as lung, breast, bowel and prostate cancer.

There will never be a Eureka! moment when a single substance or procedure is discovered that will reverse all types of cancer. Rather there will be steady, sometimes slow, progress - an improved treatment , a way to reverse one type of cancer, a way to prolong more lives.

Nobody knows what causes cancer.

OK , in this corner, Alternative Medicine, which has (in most cases) little science that it cures anybody (after all, if it works it should become apparent in scientific testing) but at least (maybe) doesn't hurt the immune system (still the patient doesn't get better)...

And in this corner, Conventional Medicine, which has been shown to cure some, help some, but certainly not all (or enough) and MAY damage your immune system (and at least gives you a CHANCE of getting better)...

There might be something to some alternative medicines, but to ignore what has already been proven scientifically is absurd. After all, the only difference between an approved conventional medicine and an alternative medicine is the demonstration that the former actually works in a clinical trial- the real world testing ground. If we subjected all alternative therapies to clinical trials, we would likely find a few that actually help, most fail miserably, and a few that are absolutely harmful-- which exactly mirrors our results with standard drugs.

I was one of the cancer patients chosen to go to Dept. Health to argue for drugs to be allowed for cancer patients - I wrote about this on www.after-cancer.com.

Whilst there is drug rationing in UK (it can depend on where you live as to what drugs you can be given - if they are expensive), the worst problem is that it takes a long time for the Govt. agency to approve any new cancer drug. Instead of taking data from clinical trials that have been carried out in countries such as France, USA etc, where cancer treatment is far better, the British system insists that the trials have to take place all over again - so wasting valuable time.

Sadly, our NHS is very arrogant. They won't look to see what is happening in other countries, but insist that they carry out their own tests.

Not surprisingly, one of the most popular categories on www.after-cancer.com is the one about getting treatment in Europe.

When the NHS works well - it works brilliantly. But a hospital near me is about to spend a fortune on 're-branding' - changing logo, colours etc. as they deem this more important than patient care. I am sure in the USA that patients would rise up and complain at waste of valuable funds.
