pretty much all the infant cough meds that were out have been recalled due to parents giving to much to their babies and the baby getting sick/dyeing.
If your baby has a persistant cough that is bothersome then call the doctor they can prescribe a decongestant and cough medicine and give you teh right dose to give.
my baby was prescribed cardec for her cough and i think it works well..

My son's Pulminologist tells me never to use cough medicine. You NEED to cough if you are having a problem with phlem to move it around and get it out. Otherwise you could end up with a worse bacterial infection. I know that it's not pleasent, but allowing yourself to cough will help you get better sooner. If the cough is keeping you up at night, then you might need a steroid to minimize the cough, but never a cough syrup.

First, I would make sure you are getting enough vitamin C! It's a natural immunity booster and can do wonders to assist your body in ridding itself of whatever germ you have.
Second, make sure you 'spitting out' the phlegm. It's a great thing your body is doing that, as that is a sign it's breaking up and you're getting better.
I would sit in the bathroom, or take a hot shower and inhale the steam...this will clear up your sinuses and your can then blow your nose or whatever.
It's better to just let the course of the germ take it's route...medicine just masks the symptoms...you're doing the right thing NOT to buy medicine!
