Medicine For Pets

Betty Said:

Where can you buy halothane a medicine for pets?

We Answered:

Halothane is an inhalant anesthetic, so unless you have an anesthetic machine with oxygen in your house, AND you have a prescription from a veterinarian for the halothane, I don't think you can get it.

Lawrence Said:

Medicine for pets. Are we paying too much for them?

We Answered:

Yes I understand that vets surgery etc is expensive but probably a fair price as its a specialist field....however, as your question was about the medicines, yes they are overpriced. It cost me £23 for a bottle of oatmeal dog shampoo and when I read the ingredients I could have made it myself for about £1 !!! Also the antibiotics etc they prescribe are very expensive.

Where to get medicine for pets, farm animals?

We Answered:

Farm supply stores usually carry routine vaccinations as well as dewormers, etc. If you mean scripts you can get discounted ones through online and mail wholesalers like 1800petmeds or foster and smith. You have to ask your vet for the script at the next visit and then the wholesaler will ask you to fax it to them. I get my dogs heartworm medicine this way. I pay about $75 for a 6 month supply of interceptor. It all depends on how big your dog is, how much it will cost. My lab is 80 lbs

Darren Said:

homeopathic medicine for pets?

We Answered:

I wouldn't go to a vet who only used homeopathic meds. I know there is a trend about using them but I am not convinced it is the right thing for our animals.

Julio Said:

Has anyone ever tried Holistic medicine for pets?? Do they work?

We Answered:

Yes I have.

I have used Sulphur tablets on my rabbits, for the treatment of mites-this was extremely effective! We also use 'Kali Phos' on one of our dogs, this is supposed to help calm them down,it certainly works! I definitely recommend using Holistic remedies.
