Medicine For Urinary Tract Infection

Glenn Said:

What medicine should I take for urinary tract infection?

We Answered:

You should not be asking us for medical advice on what pills to take, we don't know your medical background or have degrees in medicine.

If you have an infection is it caused by bacteria or an virus.

Go and see a doctor he will be able to describe the correct drugs for you, not all urinary tract drugs will work on some kinds of infections.

EDIT: To be honest, you have not told us much about the symptoms, I know someone who also had an urinary tract infection but no pain. Pain could be from an infection but you could had also passed/ or be passing a small kidney stone.

Derek Said:

What medicine is there for UTI urinary tract infection please?

We Answered:

Drink a whole bottle of light cranberry juice daily for two days and two quarts of water daily. Sugar makes it worse, so make sure it's light. If you do not feel better in two days or begin to feel worse or get a fever, go to the doctor for antibiotics.

Urinary tract infection medicine for felines?

We Answered:

No. Clavamox is the correct medication to use for a Urinary Tract infection. Other antibiotics will not work to take care of it. The antibiotic once mixed is only good for 14 days. So your other "older" antibiotic is probably NOT good anyway. So it would be best to just wait until you can get the correct meds

Brandon Said:

urinary tract infection medicine question?

We Answered:

Don't hold your pee- it will only make your infecion worse. You need to go to a doctor before the infection makes its way into a kidney infection. I had that happen one time and kidney infections can make you extremely sick. Those types of UTI pills are only meant to relieve pain until you can get to a doctor but you need antibiotics to make the infection go away. Drink lots of water and cranberry juice and avoid soda until you can get taken care of. If you frequently get UTIs you should discuss that with your doctor about having tests done to find out why you are getting them so often.

Phyllis Said:

Urinary Tract Infection medicine not working?

We Answered:

Conduct urinalysis and urine culture in a clinical lab. Identify the pathogen and select specific antibiotic for the treatment of the same. Some bacteria has got antibiotic resistance such as Proteus mirabilis. Fungus also causes urinary tract infections.
Bacterial UTIs can involve the urethra, prostate, bladder, or kidneys. Symptoms may be absent or include urinary frequency and urgency, dysuria, lower abdominal pain, and flank pain. Systemic symptoms and even sepsis may occur with kidney infection. Diagnosis is based on analysis and culture of urine. Treatment is with antibiotics.

Christian Said:

what happens if you take medicine for a urinary tract infection but you don't have an infection?

We Answered:

nothing should happen since it's made for an infection, kinda like if you take medicine for a strep once it's gone you take it for a week after, but I don't recommend taking it you might need it later

Jimmie Said:
