Jessie Said:

What OTC allergy medicine can you take while pregnant/breastfeeding?

We Answered:

nothing that works. I went through the same thing, and I could use nothing that really did any good. Some medications don't get past the placenta but I can't remember what kinds. When I was suffering, I called the nursery in the hospital and asked a nurse on duty. I also called my doctor's office. Your doctor will most likely give you a list.

Erik Said:

Can you take Vicaden (pain medicine)while you are pregnant?

Vicaden is Acetaminophen which is okay to take during pregnancy, however it should only be used under a doctors supervision and a minimum dose. Extra strength Tylenol will give the same pain relief if that's what she needs.

What kind of cold medicine can you take while pregnant?

We Answered:

My doctor told me to stick to Tylenol, regular Robittussin (if you are coughing) Vicks Vapo-Rub, Saline Nasal Spray (only saline / non-medicated), lots of liquids, lots of rest . . . use a humidifier and sit in a bathroom with a steamy shower going to try to clear the nasal passages. Keep taking your pre-natal vitamins.

Feel better!
