Is there a motion sickness medicine that works well for going on rollercoasters?

We Answered:

Take some of the less drowsy Dramamine. Works wonders.

Motion Sickness?

We Answered:

I had the same problem when young, avoided planes as long as possible, and when I finally had to fly I checked around online and found this solution: Meclizine (Anti-vert) http://www.rxlist.com/cgi/generic/mecliz…
helps with vertigo and PROCHLORPERAZINE (Compazine) prevents nausea http://www.rxlist.com/drugs/mono-6053-PR…
Take one of each one hour before the flight and every six hours during. They cause limited side effects, just drowsiness. But unlike Dramamine, Scopolomine and other drugs, they completely eliminate the effects of air sickness, sea sickness, etc. I can eat, read, walk around, and feel nothing, while if I weren't taking these I'd be so sick.

I don't know if both are necessary, I suspect I only need the Anti-vert and not the compazine, but I haven't felt like trying it out. Ask your doctor. I got these over the phone from mine but I had to ask specifically and insist on both because he just wanted me to take Dramamine.

Victor Said:

What is the best remedy or medicine for motion sickness?

We Answered:

There's a homeopathic remedy I use called Trip ease, that has done wonders for me! I've also used gravol which is quite effective. I know it's hard, but one of the best things you can do is keep yourself hydrated. The other poster mentioned it helped them to eat a soda cracker, which does not help for me, it makes the nausea much worse, so it all depends on the person:) Sea bands can also proven to help a lot of people (Sea Bands are bracelets with little buttons that stick out and apply pressure to the pressure point on your wrist). The other thing I've heard is that keeping your feet moving is very helpful (I haven't tried this yet). Another helpful thing I've noticed is to look straight ahead of you or close your eyes, don't watch the things going by.
Try a few different things, you never know what will work for you until you try it.
Good luck!!!:)

Do they make motion sickness medicine for dogs?

We Answered:

You can give her dramamine (just like people take.) We had a 65 lbs dog and the vet recommended 1/2 of a regular person dose. It made him sleepy but worked pretty well! If that doesnt cut it call your vet. They can give you a script.

im going to disneyland & im scared of heights!! should i take motion sickness medicine!?

We Answered:

Most of the rides at Disneyland have warnings before you enter. It's just a precaution so the park can have an alibi if anyone were to every sue them. However, the ride Space Mountain is a ride all in the dark so you should be fine, you won't get sick. To be on the safe side though why don't you take a couple just for the day but no more. You can get sick from taking to many motion sickness pills. I did haha

Audrey Said:

was the modest mouse song Dramamine inspired by the motion sickness medicine?

We Answered:

I think it has less to do with the fact that it glorifies overdosing on over the counter medicine to get you high like you're some 13 year-old kid and more to do with the subsurface meaning behind the name.

Think about it --- Dramamine suppresses motion sickness; it makes the "world" stop "spinning" so you can carry on and enjoy your life without feeling like you've lost total control. It's for sure not about tripping out on stuff you find in your parent's medicine cabinet. Look at the lyrics ---- "I've said what I said and you know what I mean / But I can't still focus on anything."

Discuss It!
