Nyu School Of Medicine

Donald Said:

Does New York University School of Medicine accept Transfers or Advanced Standing in to their 3rd year classes?

We Answered:

Not every med school accepts transfer students. What I'd have you do re: NYU is contact them directly. Call their admissions department.

You are going to a US med school, correct? Because no US med school accepts transfers from foreign med schools.

Catherine Said:

NYU college of dentistry? Or NYU school of medicine?

We Answered:

You need a bachelor's degree to enroll in medical or dental school. It does not need to be earned at a college or university which has a medical or dental school.

If you are admitted to NYU, you can earn your bachelor's degree there, but you will not gain an advantage, except in unusual circumstances, in admission to their medical or dental school. The professional schools like academic diversity and most of their students earned their bachelor's degree at another college or university.

Keith Said:

What does NYU look for?

We Answered:

You should immediately join a club you plan to stay in for 4 years and be able to advance (leadership). Also begin SAT prep because NYU places a high emphasis on SAT scores for admission/scholarships. Make sure you keep your grades high.

NYU School of Medicine?

We Answered:

You need a 4-year college degree, great college GPA, and great MCAT scores to get into medical schools in the US. You can start any 4-year college or university, major in anything, and take the premed classes.
