Over The Counter Nausea Medicine

Darlene Said:

I'm taking Septra. Can I take an over the counter medicine for the nausea?

We Answered:

You should call a pharmacist and ask. I think it's o.k., but you never know with meds - even anti-biotics.

Robin Said:

can you take over the counter medicine for nausea if you're 3 months pregnant?

We Answered:

Please don't take ANY over the counter medications unless you ask your doctor. OTC meds may seem harmless, but you don't know what they can do to a developing baby. Feel better sweetie.

Connie Said:

Is there over the counter medicine I can buy to help my nausea/vomiting? And also constipation/cramps?

We Answered:

You may want to try some Gatorade to get those electrolytes back that you're puking up. It is very important you stay hydrated.

Ginger is a natural remedy for morning sickness. Some women have had success with motion sickness arm bands. I found that never having an empty stomach was helpful. Always be nibbling on something bland (bananas, toast, crackers, etc).

For the constipation: it could be your prenatal vitamin. Many of them are loaded with iron which constipates. Ask your doctor about it. I used colace everyday and it helped keep things in check.

Congratulations!!
