Post Nasal Drip Medicine

Post Nasal Drip medicine question? We Answered:
I have PND, and haven't really found an easy cure. Claritin (I get the Walgreen's generic Wal-i-tin) helps alot, but doesn't completely kill it. I have just started using a Neti-Pot about 2 weeks ago, once daily. At first I couldn't really tell a difference, but it is starting to help alot too. Still, doesn't completely eliminate PND, but probably cuts it in 1/2. If I forget my Claritin in the morning, I can tell a big difference throughout the day.Roberto Said:
What is the best medicine to take for post nasal drip? Should I use a nose spray? We Answered:
If you have that feeling of junk in your throat try something like Claritin D 12 hour....or the Zyrtec D 12 hour....be careful using over the counter nose sprays more than a few days....Nasonex is what I use and its great..Its a prescription med......Also use saline spray and that helps....if you dont have any on hand take 1tsp of salt to 1 cup of warm water and put a few drops in each side of your nose.....really helps!! Humidifiers also work greatCarmen Said:
OTC medicine for post-nasal drip?We Answered:
As you know a cold is a virus so since they isn't anything but antivirals that help those I'll move on. Post nasal drip is another story. Go to the pharmacy you buy all your medications from. Just ask the pharmacist which OTC medication would work best with the other medications you take if any. Since this is the reason you need to deal with one pharmacy I hope you already do. There are plenty of post nasal decongestants available and if you take any medication on a daily basis one might work better for you. Drink 8-10 8oz glasses of water daily too so that any phlegm and/or mucus will be kept to a minimum and the immune system is kept energized. Water can also keep you hydrated and flush any infection through and out the body. Stay away from orange juice as it's too acidic and will burn the throat and might make you nauseous. Vitamin C and a everyday multiple vitamin works much better. Good luck and God BlessVickie Said:
