Prescription Migraine Medicine
Philip Said:
Is it ok to take prescription medicine even after it expired? We Answered:
It should be fine if it only expired a month ago. Usually, the worst that will happen with expired medication is that they will have decreased effectiveness. I have a suspicion that drug companies would love even shorter expiration periods.Karl Said:
I'm 21 and my hair is falling out due to a necessary prescription medicine (Depakote ER)!?We Answered:
Hair loss occurs in 5% to 10% of patients taking Depakote. It is uncertain whether more hair is lost when higher doses of Depakote are taken. The hair almost always grows back after the Depakote is stopped, but it often has a different texture. (For example, it may grow in curly instead of straight.) Taking selenium (10-20 mcg per day) and zinc (25-50 mg per day) helps some people to prevent hair loss.Bradley Said:
What are some common migraine medicines? We Answered:
If you are looking for a prescription medication with out side effects well, there are side effects to everything. If your very susceptible to Migraines it may be wise to go on a preventive daily medicine. It sucks to have to take something daily but it is worth it to not have a banger of a migraine in the long run or not have them frequently. I started taking Topomax about 1year ago and at first really didn't care for it, but now realize life is much better on it than without it.
I have a hard time taking onset medication because they make me feel really sick, high pulse, burning sensation. Those that are offered like Relpax, Maxalt, Zomig, Imitrex the list is forever long. They may also work for you though, they have to be taken at the first onset of your migrane.
Speak with your GP and see if he/she will refer you to a neurologist who specializes in migranes, that is where I seen the best luck.

are there any other remedies for headaches? We Answered:
Ok, there is a pressure point behind your head. It's kinda hard to describe how to do it, but I'll try: You know the hole thing at the base of your head? (the top of your neck, that dip right there?) Have someone come up behind you while you are sitting on the floot, and take their thumbs and press in and then up a bit, kinda at an angle. Have them press as hard as you can bear it for as long as you can bear it (it will hurt) but in like 10 min's you should feel relief. If you don't get what I said, e-mail me and i will see if I can try to explain it differently.Vera Said:
What is the best way to get rid of migraine headaches if medicine doesn't work.?We Answered:
FIRST BE AWARE OF THE SYMPTOMS BEFORE THE ACTUAL MIGRAINE BEGINS. TAKE YOUR PRESCRIBED MEDS AS DIRECTED. MAKE SURE YOU'RE IN A QUIET, PEACEFUL DIM LIT AREA. RELAX AND TRY NOT TO THINK ABOUT ANYTHING THAT MAY CAUSE ANY UNDUE STRESS. AND BY THE WAY STRESS PLAYS A BIG PART. DO KEEP BUSY WHEN YOU'RE FEELING BETTER, FIND OUT IF THERE ARE ANY FOODS THAT CAN ADD THIS SITUATION.Tracy Said:
Traveling to China this summer - will I be allowed to bring prescription medicine? We Answered:
During customs, they actually don't go through your luggage. They X-ray your checked luggage or ramdomly check some, but not all. I would suggest carrying medicine in your carry-ons or purse. You'll be fine taking medicine in and out of China. I have never had any problems. Maybe in China, you can try acupuncture. It can decrease your migraines or even treat it.Food is great in China. If you love rice you'll be fine because rice is served at every meal. The tour groups will bring you to good restaurants and the food is good as well. I can't imagine them serving steamed vegatables. It's mostly stir-fried meats with veggies. It's very simple and tasty. You'll get used the food in no time. The fruits in supermarkets are just like the US. The Chinese are very season oriented. Unlike the US, where you can get strawberries all year round, supermarkets may or may not have certain fruits based on the season. Otherwise you can get pretty much any fruit. The Chinese like melons a lot. The peaches are amazing.
There's McDonald's and KFC everywhere. The Chinese do not like beef but rather chicken, so there's a lot of chicken sandwichs rather than hamburgers. But they relatively taste the same.

Persistant headache/migraine for 3 days?We Answered:
sounds like your on top of the research, my daughter developed migraines after her son was born, which they say has nothing to do with them but my opinion is they haven't researched hormones related to migraines to know what they are talking about, anyway my point is ask your doc, about tramadol, they help my daughter, and don't make her drowsy..good luck, and how is your caffeine and chocolate intake these aggravate them..
