Sinus Headache Medicine

Joshua Said:

How can you get rid of a sinus headache?

We Answered:

boil water and put a towel over your head over the boiling water. breathe in the vapors. it will clear you right up...

Herman Said:

Is there an OTC sinus headache medicine that is chewable or small and round?

We Answered:

Regular Sudafed (not PE) is REALLY small. Another possibility is taking children's chewable Sudafed, it is orange flavored. You will have to go to the pharmacyand show ID to get it because of the Methamephetamine Act passed by Congress. Triaminic also now has those Thin Strips, like the listerine strips for Colds. For Sinus problems you would use the one with the active ingredient phenylephrine (Cold). Sudafed PE also has those Thin Strips, too, called Quick Dissolve. There isn't a multiple ingredient chewable that has a pain reliever with the nasal decongestant. You can take chewable tylenol or motrin/advil with the Sudafed and the Triaminic Cold Strips. The nasal decongestant will help with the sinus pressure, but an additional pain reliever might help. The dosages for adults are listed the boxes.

Good Luck!

I have a sinus headache, is there anything I can do to ease the pain while waiting for medicine to kick in?

Well, hopefully the medicine is kicking in but you might try a warm, wet cloth over your eyes or a hot shower.

Kathryn Said:

What is the best thing to do for a sinus headache other than taking medicine?

We Answered:

Hot shower or just fill your sink up with hot water and hold your face in the steam - w/o burning yourself. Also. try spicy foods this can help get the sinus' moving along. Ice packs or heating pad --- everyone's different, whichever gives you relief. If it's cold where you are go outside for a short walk sometime the cold air can clear up your sinus' too.
