Can I get into New York University? We Answered:
Your ECs seem pretty good but there is some other info you need to give in order to get a realistic prediction. You need to provide your rank (if your school ranks), your SAT/ACT score, and the difficulty of your classes (ie. are you taking a lot of honors or AP classes?) That will make a big difference because your GPA is borderline if you are not taking many AP classes. Also which school at NYU do you want to go to? If you are aiming for CAS (College of Arts and Science) I would say that would be a big reach but if you want to go to Gallatin, that's definitely a really possibility!Willard Said:
If Britain is really a multicultural society ...?We Answered:
In the US it is the same but with insurance companies. They will pay if you go to a doctor who took 100 hours of acupuncture classes but not if you go to someone who has a degree from an acupuncture school(one in Massachusetts takes 6 years to get). Multiculturalism is all crap anyways. Come to my city and see how "great" it supposedly isJimmy Said:
I job shadowed a disillusioned doctor? Is medicine really all politics and capitalism? We Answered:
It is definitely a part of medicine now."This person doesn't have a qualifying diagnosis for admission"
"She needs a 3 night Medicare stay so she can go to rehab."
"Can you please decide whether she can be admitted or whether she can stay as observation status?"
"You can't order that medication, her insurance doesn't cover it; please order that one."
That's just a sampling from a typical day.
How doctors deal with it depends on what kind of person they are.
A chipper "save the world" person who had no idea that healthcare is driven by insurance companies, will have a difficult time.
A person who understands that there is a game to be played, but that people can still get quality care within our dysfunctional system, will do okay.
