Why all the myths about testosterone causing aggression?

We Answered:

Testosterone doe not make anyone 'aggressive' - it gives the testosterone enhanced one the ability to respond to aggression and danger more positively than those not so graced by the good hand of god or whoever.

Look at the psychology of 'domestic violence' "laws" - these are deliberately falsely based, deliberately biased, deliberately unjust and illegal, and in themselves acts of violence for exactly one purpose. That purpose is to elicit in the testosterone enhanced individual the response to which this enhancement predisposes HIM - aggression in response to aggression, an even more so when that original aggression is unwarranted, unfair, biased, and deliberately aimed at depriving that individual of rights, personal prerogatives and so on.

This legitimate RESPONSE from the testosterone enhanced one to this unwarranted violence, deprivation and assault is then used AGAINST him to justify the assault in the first place. Therefore, these 'laws' are nothing more than a cunning psychological ploy to entrap the ordinary testosterone enhanced individual, using his own physiology against him.

The aim, of course, is for the 'government' that utilises this obscene process to take total control of that individual, and through that ongoing process, of the whole of society.

Are you a sports medicine specialist?

We Answered:

Go to APTA.org, click on "Find a PT", and search your home area. Look for someone who is board-certified in orthopedic or sports PT (OCS or SCS after their name). I bet you will find someone local who would be glad to help you.

Good luck!

Is the AMA study about intelligence and sports for real?

We Answered:

Five years ago I would have knocked your block off for saying something like this (even though you were just the messenger)....But after living in the brain dead state of the sports world, the study is accurate best I can tell. i saw two other stuidies with teh same results. I like the idea of kids playing sports but it shoudl come second to school and a real education.

Aggregating content via RSS feeds, and displaying for all to consume, comment, share, and rate?

We Answered:

You will find that RSS feeds from original content producers will largely be excerpted and not full articles. This is a reasonable thing, because it helps protect work that they do that should be making them money (in many cases via web ads served with the original content).

Let's say you are a crafty one and figured out a way to lift entire articles from the 3rd party sites, and inject your own ads/widgets/etc to them to make your site do what you want it to. You would probably be fine until you obtained a significant readership, and then you would find some DMCA takedown notices in your inbox. And guess what? You'd have to take down the full articles, or risk losing lawsuits. This is because you are not practicing "fair use" of the original creator's content.

All that said, you may want to check out Google Sites. That tool contains multiple ways to add nicely built social widgets, legal-to-use RSS feeds including a paragraph or so of content from sites with feeds, wikis, etc. It should do *almost* what you want, and protect you from nasty lawyers all at once.

Good luck, and have fun.

What are sports medicine boots used for?

We Answered:

SMBs are the only boots that are endorsed by the veterinary community. They can be useful in any discipline where blunt force trauma to legs is likely, such as whacking into jumps or interference injuries.

Unfortunately, many studies have been done in both human and equine medicine, and neither boots nor wraps offer any significant support to tendons or ligaments as was once thought. Pro Choice SMBs with fetlock support are considered to be the best boots available, and even they offer no more than 5 to 7% support which is functionally insignificant in that it will not effectively prevent injuries from overstretching and tearing of these tissues. Wraps offer only a pitiful 1%, which amounts to no support at all. So, put into perspective, even while wearing the best boots out there, there is still a 93 to 95% risk of strain or sprain injury to tendons and ligaments, which is not impressive.

Because they do dissipate concussive force from trauma to tissues by interference or bumps and bangs or friction burns, they are still recommended for some activities.

All wraps and boots can potentially cause overheating at the tendon core, which will degenerate tendon tissue. It is best to only use boots or wraps when absolutely needed, and to remove them immediately when a workout is finished. Cold hosing the legs right away after they are removed is also recommended to assure the tendons are cooled.

The only way to prevent tendon and ligament strains and sprains is by diligent conditioning of horses for the exact work they will be expected to do. Boots can't be relied upon to protect poorly conditioned limbs since they cannot offer that kind of support.
