NYLF is a complete ripoff. They send invitations to everyone who made a certain score or above on the PSAT and they do not benefit your college application. How do I know this? I, along with countless other sophomores at my school, was invited although I have no interest in the medical field.

The vounteering would look best, but I wouldn't suggest just going it over the summer. Do it over the summer, and if you enjoy it, continue doing it a few weekends a month during the school year. Not only will this benefit your college application, but you will feel better knowing that you help others, and give you experience working in a hospital.
