I just started reading Chicken Soup for the Nurse's Soul, I think this book might tell you what is rewarding about the job. I read the first couple of stories and already cried.I'm not a nurse yet, I am a CNA and while I'm working my patients themselves just say the sweetest stuff to me about how much they appreciate that we help them get better with love. As long as you really enjoy helping people I'm sure you will feel a reward, and it's sad when some of them tell you that you are their only family now, but that just motivates you to do an even better job.

Probably so - public health or psychiatric nursing come to mine. But first you've got to get that nursing degree and RN license.
