Alan Said:
what are the benefits of a nursing career?why all the hype about it this days?We Answered:
wow! where to start, money is great, get to be around people, you learn a lot about the medical field, you understand and can treat diseases better, you become more health conscience, if you are a college student with loans, they will pay them or a percentage of them for you. and the hype is, the nursing field is extremely low. many many places need nurses and can't get them because so many people want to do other things. the more and more people get sick, the more and more they are going to need nurses. it is extremely marketable. any small town needs a nurse. even overseas, they need trained nurses to help with pandemics and epidemics, with all the wars in the middle east and africa, trust me, the need is high!Leslie Said:
If I am planning on transferring from a community college to a 2-year university to pursue a nursing career..?We Answered:
i started the transferring process from a CC to a University and they DO ask about all your high school accomplishments. So take advantage and make sure to write it all on the applications. Make sure to list all your volunteer work as well, all these things help in lots of ways, priority registration, grants and scholarships, all money that you don't need to pay back.Good Luck

Nursing career, Where is the best location to live?We Answered:
wow, we live at the other end of the stick, my wife is a nurse and makes the low end of your scale in upstate New York. We are actually looking to come south. get away from it all .Ronald Said:
how should i pursue my nursing career? We Answered:
I am currently pursuing my associates in nursing. The reason I am doing so is that I too have no money for school but I was able to get financial aid and I am attending a community college for the time being. Associates in nursing takes less time and you will be able to get a job sooner. I am in the same boat as you been graduated from H.S. for 1.5 years and just now decided to pursue nursing. I am also doing medical assisting to help me get a job sooner.Good Luck and hope this helps.

do nurses need to know all the things they learned when they start their nursing career? We Answered:
You need to know how to do all of these skills when you first learn your career. You may be a little bit shaky at first, and that is natural, but that is why they have so many classes on the hospital site that will allow you to practice. I know that the student nurses around here will be in the hospital and get experience with their nursing teacher, adn that will arm them with enough resources to start their career.Kenneth Said:
For all nurses out there. Is there anyone that feels his/her nursing career has changed them for the worst? We Answered:
its made me harder and able to "switch into auto mode" when something happens like an emergency.i cant switch off my emotions so i stopped working around the dying coz it was messing with my head and making me numb. and i would cry like a baby when my patients die.
im only 22 now so i need to have happier things around me because if you want to fit in you have to act like the 40-50 yo nurses because they give you hell aswell because youre young and they like to gossip about you and dont realise it affects you and your personal career. and its hard to tell someone off for disrespecting you when they are older than your parents and you were brought up to respect your elders!
ugh its hard in that profession, im still in it, just.... differently.
