Seth Said:

Can I finish the 4 year bachelor nursing program in 3 to 2 years?

We Answered:

What you will have to do is talk to one of the advisers because to finish the degree early, you will need to take the Maximum amount of credits without paying extra for tuition.

What should I expect in my first year of bachelor of nursing?

We Answered:

Your first year will probably be spent taking mostly general required classes, such as college writing, english, algebra, biology, computers, psychology, chemistry, etc, and also maybe an elective or two. You typically won't get into the actual nursing classe until your sophomore or junior year.

Good luck!

Is it possible to take an associate's in nursing & bachelor's in psych at the same time?

We Answered:

Theoretically, I suppose you could, but it doesn't sound like a very good idea. Dealing with two systems and schedules at a time could only be confusing. You would have to take half-loads of each in order to do either well, so why not finish one first and THEN start the other. You should be able to concentrate better that way.

becoming a nurse practitioner with a non-nursing bachelor's degree?

We Answered:

You need a bachelors in nursing to apply to NP programs. An associates isn't enough. But because you already hold a bachelors degree, you can enter a nursing bachelors program as a second-degree student. All your gen-ed/university core classes would be waived, and you'll only need to complete the classes required for nursing. You could complete the BS RN in two years or less - less time than it normally takes to get the associates in nursing, anyway.

There are some combined second-degree BS/MS RN programs out there, as well as accelerated MS programs for career changers (where you complete a certain amount of the BS coursework, then jump right into the MS) so you can check into that as well.

Is a Bachelor Degree of Nursing difficult?

We Answered:

Hi, good for you. Nursing is an amazing profession. It is also very diverse and you have the opportunity to change into different fields. I have been nursing for 40yrs. And travelled the world. I have worked in OR, in the wards, as a Nurse Educator and now Supervisor. You can increase your knowledge by studying further. At present I am in saudi Arabia where there are 47 different nationalities of nurses. Where would you get that chance to make world wide friends and places to visit.
The Bachelor of Nursing Degree is as difficult as you make it. If you study hard, and want to be there, and not just socialise you will do well. Otherwise it will be difficult. But it is worth it in the end.
Good luck

To do a Bachelor or Master of Nursing Science?

We Answered:

I would vote for the Associates at the local community college if you do not want to spend the time for a Bachelor's Degree. The masters degree would assume you have completed a nursing degree or program diploma. However, there might be a program or two out there, and I noticed there is one called an accelerated program in Texas which would take you three years.
