Canada Nurse Jobs

Sarah Said:

why is it so difficult to get a job as a Registered Nurse in Canada?

We Answered:

Where have you tried ?
I would contact the Canadian Consulate in Brazil

Do you speak , French ? Sometimes it's easier to enter through , Quebec.
Also I'm sure that Alberta needs nurses.
Have you contacted hospitals direct ?I would obtain lists of hospitals from major cities , and apply directly to them.If they are interested with supply you documentation to help you obtain a work visa.

No offense to you intended...but over in Canada they like to keep the majority of jobs like nursing for their own Canadians.

They've looked at countries like the UK where there are far too many foreign nurses (many who cannot speak clear English) and that the actual British nurses are working abroad to escape and the NHS is falling to pot. I imagine they don't want to follow in our footsteps.

My uncle moved out there a few years ago and says they have quite a lot of Chinese and Indian immigrants in Canada....but they tend to do the typical "shop" and "factory" type work.

I'm Planning to migrate and find a job as a nurse in Canada..but where?

We Answered:

As a nurse you can probably find work just about anywhere in Canada, but if you want an area with a high economic profile you probably want the Toronto area or Calgary or Vancouver. The other part of your question "more appealing place to live" would be a different answer - in that case, go for Atlantic Canada. Quality of life might be much better in a more rural area. If you want a little adventure consider the Yukon, Northwest Territories, Nunavut, or Labrador.
