Can someone help me on how to become a nurse/midwife?We Answered:
You need to get GCSE's in Maths and English (either language or literature) at grade A*-C to get onto the Access course. Most universities will not accept BTEC or any Level 3 Health and Social care anymore, seeing as they are sacking the Nursing Diploma this year.I am starting an Access programme which is one A level (Biology) and another A level in Health Studies in September. I wanted to do the BTEC but when I enquired at my city university, they said they would not accept that onto the Nursing Degree course because they would rather you have A levels. The access programme is usually only for those aged 19+, but if you are wanting to do the Nursing Degree, you should opt for 2-3 A levels.
I would advise you to get A*-C in GCSE Maths and one English. Go to college in September to study 2 A levels in Biology and English. Then, apply for a 3 year Nursing degree in university once you have completed your A levels.
EDIT: You need to go to university to study to become a nurse or midwife. There is no other option. But, they give you a bursary and will pay you for work when you are working in the hospitals.
@Mama- she is clearly from the UK because she's leaving school at 16 years old and has taken GCSEs

Can you help me with my resume? We Answered:
It looks very good (be sure to bold headings, of course)! You have all the necessary information and from an employer's point of view, your experience looks good.I would use some caution posting personal information like this online in such a public forum because of the unfortunate fact that some people collect information like this for less than helpful purposes!
You might have already considered that.
