We Answered:

My personal favorite is San Deigo Vocational, SDV! Go you SDV!

Jerome Said:

Are you a recent high school grad who is going to a career college or vocational institute?

We Answered:

As a teacher I can tell you that many of our students go to these schools because they can be done in 18-24 months, can start working other jobs, and cannot afford 4 yr. universities or colleges. While some are "academically challenged" many are very intelligent and have a passion for these types of careers that were fostered or developed in our school district's tech. school.

Bobby Said:

can you transfer from a career college to an university without having to take your general classes?

We Answered:

Most carreer school units are not accepted by the universities. You will have to go ask your career college if their units is transferable to this specific university.

You should also ask the university if they will accept units from this career college so you can hear both side of the stories.

if i were you, i stay away from career school.

Jane Said:

What kind of career/college major fits me?

We Answered:

Thats great! International affiars is a good major. You could also minor in a foreign language. During college try getting internships that allow you to travel, or study abroad for a year. Then once you graduate, think about working for the United Nations.

Lester Said:

American Career College. How long will it take for me to get 15 units?

We Answered:

Well bless you for wanting to join the USMC (United States Marine Corps) and are so willing to protect our country! We salute you :) American Career College though sounds like one of those expensive for-profit schools. Perhaps the local community college offers some online courses and probably at a fraction of the price and with more credibility. Regardless of which school or classes that you choose, please check with the Marine Corps before actually taking any classes as to whether they would transfer or not and from that particular school (and ideal to ask for that in writing).

Please steer clear of those online, for-profit schools (may have 'bricks and mortar' buildings and may be 'accredited) such as penn foster, capella, university of phoenix, strayer, ITT tech, ashworth, everest, argosy, kaplan, ashford, stratford career, walden, anthem, remington and others as they are merely out to 'make a profit' (and course credits may Not transfer): http://www.ripoffreport.com and can type into search.

This website has posts by former students from certain colleges: http://www.studentsreview.com and can type into search and click 'comments' if there are any.

Hoping that you stay well and safe.
