If you have the right personality and are prepared to study and work hard, then nursing could be the career for you. I was a nurse for 11 years and loved the job immensely. You get a huge amount of satisfaction from this job. But don't kid yourself its easy. You work long hours including nights and weekends, the pay isn't fantastic and you need to be pretty thick skinned sometimes. Also, although we try and save lives, sometimes this isn't possible and this can be very distressing for nurses, families and also other patients.I gave up nursing to become a teacher but I remember my nursing days with great fondness.
I wish you all the luck for the future!
