Careers For Nurses
Kent Said:
Is it true that many hospitals are no longer hiring nurses? We Answered:
It depends on where you are located. In Ohio, they are hiring nurses but their pay rate is lower. ( $22-25 hr). In Georgia, they are hiring LVN/LPNs and RNs. Their pay rate for RNs is $26-33hr).As far as the degree type. Right now it really doesnt matter if you have a ADN or a BSN. You get paid the same rate. Education is also the same. BSN teaches more theory information, which is good if you want to get into management.

Attention Nurses! Has anyone transitioned to nursing from an artistic background? We Answered:
Although I never had a career in art, I was an illustration major awhile back. I'm currently in my last semester of a bsn program. So i'm amateur at best. I can tell you there are quite a few students in my class with graphic design backgrounds. They seem to like nursing school. It's kind of crazy and I hardlyever feel creative (too busy memorizing and "thinking critically"). I miss feeling like that--like you're you. Life becomes all about nursing--you live and think about it 24/7.When I'm done--and everyone else is doing their masters-- I'm ddefinitely going to do something more creative. I think that if that's a major part of who you are you must keep doing it.
I wish I could give you more relevant information--but you're probably going to have to try it out for yourself anyway.
