Certified Nurse Career
Matthew Said:
My first career choice should I be a nurse or get microsoft certified????We Answered:
A combination of IT and Nursing would be great for you. Nursing Informatics is HUGE.I work at a hospital and we have a demand for people with computer IT experience with a strong nursing background. We're in the computer age where medical records are now being kept electronically. People with nursing and medical backgrounds are critical to set up those programs

Are there any certified nurse midwives out there that can anwser my interview questions for my career project? We Answered:
Don't get it.If you have the questions that you need to ask them in your project, what are you asking for ?
They will have the answers and not expect you to agree/disagree in something you know little about.

I want to become a Certified Nurse Midwife. What should my career plan be?We Answered:
I would recommend a year in postpartum or Mother/Baby and then several years of labor and delivery before applying to CNM program. That way, you have a decent amount of postpartum, lactation, and normal newborn experience, plus a good deal of labor experience. When it comes to midwifery, nothing beats experience and exposure to normal and not-so-normal pregnancy and birth situations.Marian Said:
Is being a certified nurse assitant a good career? We Answered:
Congrats! That is definitely something to be proud of! CNAs are in high demand right now, so you should have no problem finding a job in the future. If you are happy. . .seriously, who cares what "everyone" else says? It's not their job to make decisions about your career. Getting your CNA is a great thing to do because it is a stable career with many opportunities, but it is also something that you can really build on if you choose to.
My boyfriend's sister is an LNA (basically the same thing, I think). She works at a nursing home and she likes it alright. She would prefer to work in a hospital, because it is sad when her patients die. She is also starting school to be an RN soon.
On the other hand, my boyfriend's grandmother is a CNA and has been one for almost 40 years! She loves it! She never went to school to be an RN because she didn't want that much responsibility and she also says that they do a lot of paperwork and clerical stuff.
Bottom line: You should be celebrating right now, not feeling stupid! If you are happy, that is all that matters.
The next time someone says you should go back to school, you could say something like, "I'm keeping my options open" or (if you want to be straight with them :]) "I really don't think I will, I am happy with what I have!".
I got some of the same stuff when I got my pharmacy technician license. People were telling me I should to to college to be a pharmacist. Mind you, I am in my 3rd year of community college and only have half my credits for a 2 year degree :]
Good luck!

Is a certified nurse assitant a good career? We Answered:
As far as a C.N.A. being a good career, it's really what you make of it. From my personal experience, alot of the extra work that you have to do is because there are nurses with nasty attitudes and lazy that don't like to help and they think just because they have a R.N. or L.P.N. behind their name that they are too good to help when help is needed and they classify C.N.A.'s as almost as maids to them. Now don't get me wrong there are some Awesome nurses out there, that are good at their jobs and are very caring, and then you have those nurses that are only in it for the money and can care less about the patient. You just do what is in your heart and if you choose any career that you feel that isn't for you, move on to what you feel is the next best thing. As a C.N.A. you will learn alot about patient care in nursing homes, hospitals and where ever else care is needed.Jacob Said:
Can anybody who is a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist tell me about your career? We Answered:
You can make well over $100,000.00/year in this profession. You will need to be an RN first, work for 1-3 years, then apply and get accepted for 2-3 more years of school.
