Different Careers In Nursing
Esther Said:
what career should i go with?We Answered:
I am a college student going into nursing, there are always available job positions. You must be patient, hard working, and able to go on little or no sleepdental hygienist is a good choice due to it pays well with great hours.
i really dont know enough about x ray techs
go with your heart, look for what you can do and what you want to do within those fields, look for what kind of life you want to lead outside of your chosen profession (for hours and such) and make your decision. Good thing you are thinking about it now, you have lots of time
Good luck!

Do you sometimes feel like your life is going in the wrong direction? We Answered:
What do you WANT to do? Where do your passions lie? Perhaps trying a similar job while pursuing night classes in a field that appeals to may be an option. My soon to be father in-law started off working with the mentally challenged went on to teach computer classes at college, then he ran his own computer business and now he works for the department of education. Its possible this change of scenery is for the best and you may find something with your experience that you are better suited for.And yes, I feel the same way (and ramble quite often)

two completely different career paths but i dont know which to choose? We Answered:
this is merely an opinion, but i would go with nursing. with nursing you can work while you learn. many places will pay you while you learn and obtain your cna. you can work as a cna while you earn your lpn, and work as a lpn until you become a RN. i am a lpn. i feel good at the end of my day. im not in a hospital setting, i work at a retirement home. everyday i have someones little old grandma or grandpa thank me for helping them with the simplest thing. its a rewarding job, with nice pay. generally speaking if your working in nursing you will have the best benefits pkg also. medical, dental, ect.Anita Said:
Okay, so i am planning on going to nursing school in 2 years. I am taking the pre reqs now.?We Answered:
I'm from Poland, and I have been here for 15 years in United States. I use to speak German too... I lived and went to German High School. . . but listen closely I am a graduate of Ohio State University in major in Comparative Literature, and currently I finished my first year in nursing school. I am graduating from nursing school in summer of 2008, and let me tell you all this stuff is really kicking my butt, anatomy is basically problem solving and memorization, even if you don't do well your first time around, if you take it again, you will understand it at some point. Nursing is not only science but you will be challenged to the bottom of it. Its not to do well in high school. take at a local community college during the summer where you can concentrate on one class that prepares you to think like math and science. Chapter 3 is confusing? Grab partners people from your class, stay after class, ask million and a half questions, get into study groups,
find tutors etc.. be involved in each class... and most importantly listen in class...I struggled with that concept half of my life

Would a degree in nursing, help me get a job as Cabin Crew?We Answered:
Your Nursing Degree will defiantly help in finding employment as cabin crew on a major airline. You also have the advantage of a second language, which is a real bonus too.So long as you are of the right height and weight, are well groomed and a real people person.I would say , you have an excellent chance of making it a second career.
I know a lot of Australian nursing friends who also work as cabin crew members.
Many do nursing on a permanent part time basis and stay at a hospital for a while then take a "mental health break" and work for a time with an airline. Airlines also have options like nursing of P.P.T. work.
I think its an excellent idea and would do it myself, if my circumstances were different. You need to be a free bird, or have a partner who is prepared to look after children etc. while you are away for a few days at a time.
I believe it is a great job, you meet some really interesting people. You also get to stay in 5 star hotels and there is always time for a bit of shopping or what ever between return flights.
Like nursing ,or any job it has its down sides.
In Australia the pay is a little less, but we nurses in Australia are very well paid, as we should be!
I would start researching various airlines and if you are close to graduation send of a few letters introducing yourself, and showing an expression of interest in undertaking cabin crew training after graduation.
I'm sure you will love it!
Hope this has been a bit of help.Even though I am in Australia ,I think the employment expectations would be pretty much the same.
