Find Nursing Jobs

Andre Said:

do graduates of csu who have completed a bs in nursing find jobs even if they?

We Answered:

Well, it depends on what "CSU" is.....Colorado State University? Chicago State University? Cleveland State University?, etc.....

As long as the school is NLN-accredited, you are able to sit for your state boards and take the NCLEX.

If you pass, you have a better chance of getting hired since you're already a Registered Nurse. Some hospitals are reluctnant to hire grad nurses that haven't taken the boards yet.

Ramona Said:

Is it really easy to find jobs in the nursing field?

We Answered:

Yes there are many nursing jobs. However, not as many as there used to be as of right now. The recession has hit healthcare and with people unable to pay their hospital bills, hospitals have resorted to putting their hiring on hold and backing off on elective surgeries. A few years ago, I could pick and choose what job and how many hours I wanted to work, Now nurses- especially new ones- can't be so picky. You also have to consider why there is a shortage of nurses. If it was easy work, everyone would do it, right? No the truth is, nursing is very hard work, physically and mentally. When was the last time you were on your feet for thirteen hours and sitting only a handful of times for about 5 minutes at a time? Now add on lifting obese patients, cleaning up vomit, mucus, urine, feces, blood, pus administering drugs, changing dressings, keeping track of everything about all your patients -when they eat sleep and pee. Running crowd control for all the visitors and friends. Answering to doctors, pharmacy, social work, managers, and therapy services and run down the hall because a patient is choking, stopped breathing, trying to jump out the window, yanked out all of their ivs and wandering down the hall naked. Get the picture? Think twice about this career, it's not for the faint of heart.
