Tom Said:
Healthcare job for Nursing student in NYC.?We Answered:
I went to a lot of job fairs and specifically inquired at each facility's table that I might be interested in whether they had any internships or job opportunities specifically for nursing students.Zachary Said:
What jobs in healthcare can I work while going to nursing school? We Answered:
Probably nurse aid or patient care tech.Vincent Said:
How can we make jobs in healthcare more palatable for workers? We Answered:
As an RN of 10 years I would have to say that we need fisrt and foremost to improve staff to patient ratios. Nurses leave in droves because we are spread too thin. This compromises patient safety, leads to worker burn-out and increases the likelihood of employee injuries. Being a nurse is hard work even on good days and soul-crushing on bad. State mandated ratios like they have in CA would be a start.Gordon Said:
What kind of Healthcare Jobs involves traveling? We Answered:

What other health care jobs or programs can i get into with a nursing degree? We Answered:
Amazing. Nursing is like the best profession out there. There are so many sub-specialties in all professional areas. There are about 100 different nursing specialties. See below for the list. I know that doesn't completely answer you question, but the list can give you some ideas. Research, for instance, or Business Administration, There the CSI angle, but the TV show seems to make it more glamorous than it probably really is. Then there are legal nurse consultants.
You can find a list of the highest paying nursing specialties here on the right hand column: http://www.jobs-in-registered-nursing.co…
Another approach is to see what all the nursing schools offer.

Ethel Said:
Truly, Is the Nursing/Healthcare Field in demand? We Answered:
A job in healthcare is very secure and very much in demand. Some people even move to Alaska because they pay top dollar there.Tanya Said:
Is it safe to quit a healthcare job and expect to be hired somewhere else during this economic crisis? We Answered:
It is never safe to quit a job with out having another job, in any economy. Many hospitals are downsizing and are cutting out positions due to reimbursement issues. There are parts of the country that have shortages and some that are not experiencing any shortages or minimal shortages of workers. Put up with this unpleasant situation until you get another job.
You can tolerate anything for a period of time. And will be a motivator to get another job. healthcare is a tough field. There are many unhappy people in healthcare due to the pressures of having to do more with less. I have found that people in health care would rather complain and be miserable, than to change their situation.
Kudos to you for want to improve your situation and put the negative environment behind you. Just be smart and take time to look and find a better situation.
